- No ads, no bookings, no affiliate links, no commission, and no featured listings. We tell you what to join and how to walk in, what you do next is between you and the people you meet.
- We name businesses, not people
- We name registered operators with a public website, the way our guides already do for gyms and dive shops. We never name a private individual, and we never publish a personal phone number or Line ID.
- Some of this can hurt you
- Freediving, kitesurfing, scuba, Muay Thai, and riding a motorbike can injure or kill you. Wherever a page covers one, it states plainly what certification and supervision you actually need before you start.
- Dates and prices go stale
- Any page naming a weekly meetup, a class time, or a price carries the date we last checked it, so you can judge for yourself whether it's still worth trusting.

How is this different from the travel guides?
Our guides answer what to buy and where to stay for a trip. Island Life answers what you can join once you're here, the run clubs, the bands, the boat crews, the volunteer shifts, and nobody is selling you anything on these pages.
Can I join as a visitor, or do I need to live here?
Most of what's here welcomes a visitor who turns up once, tagged drop-in. A few pages only make sense if you're staying months, tagged live-here, and we say so plainly on each one.
Does anything on this site cost money?
The site itself never charges you and never earns anything from what it lists. Some activities and lessons cost money to the businesses that run them, and we say roughly what, but we take no cut of it.
How current is this information?
Every page naming a recurring session, class time, or price carries the date we last checked it, and we recheck it on a rolling schedule, so an old date is your signal to verify before you go.

Use the contact link in the site footer and tell us what changed and where you saw it. We'd rather hear about a stale meeting time than let it sit there misleading someone.
