About this event

Fire & Destiny is a New Year's Eve gala on the beach at Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort in Chaweng. It runs from 6 pm on 31 December 2026 to 1 am. The gala buffet is joined by live music, fire performances, a DJ set and midnight fireworks over Chaweng Beach.

The buffet is listed with caviar, fresh seafood, foie gras, roasts and grills. The resort prices adults and children aged 6 to 12 differently, and service and tax are extra. It is the beach party of the resort's New Year programme, alongside the Tree Tops dinner. Midnight on the beach means that crowds on Chaweng are heavy, so allow extra time for transfers. Book through the resort.

Food, workshops, family on Koh Samui

Beyond the nightlife, Samui's other events are mostly food, classes and resort programmes. Thai cooking classes often begin with a market visit and end with lunch, and some welcome children. In the festive season, hotels in Chaweng, Bophut and Maenam stage Christmas Eve dinners, brunches and New Year's Eve galas with beach countdowns and fireworks. Some are open to outside diners and others are tied to a stay, so ask the hotel and book early. Family options include Muay Thai sessions and zipline parks.

Around Chaweng

Chaweng is the main resort town on Samui's east coast, with the longest beach on the island, roughly 7 km of sand. Soi Green Mango, just back from the beach, is the nightlife alley, and Central Festival Samui sits between the beach road and Chaweng Lake. Chaweng Beach Road is one-way northbound and slows to a crawl between 17:00 and 20:00 with taxis, scooters and pedestrians. Most club nights, pool parties and Muay Thai bouts are here, and Pru Chaweng Park hosts public festivals and races.
