About this event

The Christmas Eve Beachfront Barbecue is a dinner on the sand at Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort on Chaweng Beach, from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Thursday 24 December 2026. The menu is grilled meats and seafood, with a live trio band and fire performances. Advance reservation is required.

The resort sets different rates for adults and for children aged 6 to 12, and all prices carry service and tax on top, so the final bill is higher than the headline figure. It is the family-friendly option among Anantara Lawana's Christmas events, which also include the Tree Tops tasting menu and a Christmas Day brunch at Ocean Kiss. The event is outdoors, so a rain plan is worth asking about when you reserve. The booking page lists the exact terms.

Food, workshops, family on Koh Samui

Beyond the nightlife, Samui's other events are mostly food, classes and resort programmes. Thai cooking classes often begin with a market visit and end with lunch, and some welcome children. In the festive season, hotels in Chaweng, Bophut and Maenam stage Christmas Eve dinners, brunches and New Year's Eve galas with beach countdowns and fireworks. Some are open to outside diners and others are tied to a stay, so ask the hotel and book early. Family options include Muay Thai sessions and zipline parks.

Around Chaweng

Chaweng is the main resort town on Samui's east coast, with the longest beach on the island, roughly 7 km of sand. Soi Green Mango, just back from the beach, is the nightlife alley, and Central Festival Samui sits between the beach road and Chaweng Lake. Chaweng Beach Road is one-way northbound and slows to a crawl between 17:00 and 20:00 with taxis, scooters and pedestrians. Most club nights, pool parties and Muay Thai bouts are here, and Pru Chaweng Park hosts public festivals and races.
