About this event

This is a Christmas Day dinner of Thai dishes served as a sharing set at Explorar Koh Samui, from 7 pm to 10 pm on 25 December 2026. Explorar is an adults-only resort at Maenam, on the calmer north shore of Koh Samui, so children are not accepted.

Maenam Beach stretches about 7 km, with shallow water and views across to Koh Phangan, and the resort stands close to the beach and to Maenam Walking Street. The resort offers evening live music in its restaurant. It is a quiet alternative to the big Chaweng events. Dinner is booked through the resort's festive page, which also lists the New Year's Eve gala.

Food, workshops, family on Koh Samui

Beyond the nightlife, Samui's other events are mostly food, classes and resort programmes. Thai cooking classes often begin with a market visit and end with lunch, and some welcome children. In the festive season, hotels in Chaweng, Bophut and Maenam stage Christmas Eve dinners, brunches and New Year's Eve galas with beach countdowns and fireworks. Some are open to outside diners and others are tied to a stay, so ask the hotel and book early. Family options include Muay Thai sessions and zipline parks.

Around Maenam

Maenam is a long, quiet beach on the north coast, with views of Koh Phangan. Its best-known weekly event is the Thursday walking street, a short strip of roughly 200 metres with snacks, clothes and mobile cocktail bars, open from about 17:00. Parking nearby is tight, and a source advises arriving before 18:00. The village has many small restaurants, with Thai and European cooking. Evenings are calm rather than loud, and some beachfront hotels host festive buffets and New Year's Eve dinners.
