About this event

New Year Eve at Tree Tops starts with a tasting menu and live entertainment in the Tree Tops dining sala at Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort. Guests then get access to the resort's private gala on Chaweng Beach, with a live DJ, the countdown and fireworks. The resort lists it for New Year's Eve 2026, but the page gives no exact start time.

Tree Tops has eight private salas in a 120-year-old rain tree, so the first part of the night is a small, seated dinner. The beach gala is probably the resort's Fire and Destiny party, which is listed separately, but the two pages do not say so directly. Ask the resort for the start time and the seating schedule when you book. Prices carry service and tax on top.

Food, workshops, family on Koh Samui

Beyond the nightlife, Samui's other events are mostly food, classes and resort programmes. Thai cooking classes often begin with a market visit and end with lunch, and some welcome children. In the festive season, hotels in Chaweng, Bophut and Maenam stage Christmas Eve dinners, brunches and New Year's Eve galas with beach countdowns and fireworks. Some are open to outside diners and others are tied to a stay, so ask the hotel and book early. Family options include Muay Thai sessions and zipline parks.

Around Chaweng

Chaweng is the main resort town on Samui's east coast, with the longest beach on the island, roughly 7 km of sand. Soi Green Mango, just back from the beach, is the nightlife alley, and Central Festival Samui sits between the beach road and Chaweng Lake. Chaweng Beach Road is one-way northbound and slows to a crawl between 17:00 and 20:00 with taxis, scooters and pedestrians. Most club nights, pool parties and Muay Thai bouts are here, and Pru Chaweng Park hosts public festivals and races.
