About this event

Awakening the Body of Light is a spiritual retreat at Indriya Retreat in Srithanu, Koh Phangan, from 20 to 30 November 2026. The programme covers energy practices, Pillar of Light meditation and the foundations of kundalini awakening. Guests stay in eco-bungalows, private or shared, and the retreat serves two vegetarian meals a day.

The listed practices include guided meditation, multidimensional breathwork, subtle energy activation, dream yoga and Mystery School teachings. The retreat is open to newcomers and to people with some experience, and the venue lists room for up to 50 guests. The length is shown inconsistently: one page calls it an 11-day retreat, another a 10-day retreat, so confirm the exact arrival and departure days with the organiser. Booking runs through BookRetreats and Retreat Guru.

Yoga and wellness on Koh Phangan

Wellness is Phangan's second identity. Srithanu on the west coast is the centre, with yoga shalas, vegan cafes and healing centres within walking distance of each other. Pyramid Yoga lists ecstatic dance in its dome on Sunday mornings and kirtan chanting on Sunday evenings, and Samma Karuna hosts a Monday community dinner. Haad Yao has retreat centres offering yoga, ecstatic dance and sound healing. Wat Khao Tham above Ban Tai runs 10-day silent Vipassana courses each month, with in-person registration on the first day. Schedules change, so confirm with the centre.

Around Srithanu

Srithanu is a village on Phangan's west coast, and the centre of the island's yoga and wellness scene. Centres such as Samma Karuna, Orion, Ananda and Pyramid Yoga are within walking distance of each other, alongside vegan cafes and juice bars. Evenings follow that pattern: ecstatic dance, kirtan, sound healing and community dinners rather than parties. Retreat centres here, such as Indriya, also run longer programmes. Haad Rin's clubs are far away, and Srithanu stays quiet at night.
